How to Prepare for Advising
- Review your DegreeWorks through myBama to ensure accuracy and to determine what courses you need. Print out a copy of your DegreeWorks and bring it with you to your advising appointment.
- Create a list of courses, and back up options, that you would like to take. Search for class options on the Class Schedule on myBama. Fill out a draft schedule for the upcoming semester and bring it with you to your advising appointment.
- Inform your advisor of any courses you are taking or planning to take at another institution.
- When you have all of your materials together, book your appointment here. Be sure to fill in all fields.
Always include your CWID in emails to UA officials and use your @crimson email account.
It is the student’s responsibility to make sure they are advised and registered within a timely manner. Delaying advising and/or registration may result in necessary classes being full.
Academic Calendar – Every semester, all students should check the academic calendar for important dates (e.g., last day to drop a class)
Registration Times are posted at least two weeks before registration begins. Go to the “Student” tab on myBama. Under the "Academic Services" box, click on "Registration Status" and select the term. Your specific date and time for registration should display.
