UNIVERSITY'S RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, classes at The University of Alabama allowed an extended Spring Break to allow faculty time to move coursework to alternative and online learning. Afterwards, students will not be returning to classes on campus for the Spring semester but will instead transition to remote or alternative learning (depending on the course). Students will need to check their Blackboard courses for specific information about each class they are enrolled in.
During this challenging time, The College of Human Environmental Sciences is committed to supporting our students, faculty, and staff. We are working with various stakeholders, such as the Office of Disability Services, Testing Services, and others, to make this transition as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Academic advising will resume by distance once courses resume. If a student has not already met with an advisor, or if they have any questions, they should contact their academic advisor by e-mail to set up a time to speak with them about their academic schedule prior to registration. No face-to-face advising appointments will be scheduled in an effort to adhere to the University’s efforts towards social distancing. If a student is unsure as to who their advisor is, this information can be found by looking in their Degreeworks. For additional assistance, You may contact the HES Student Services office at hesstudentservices@ches.ua.edu
